6 Easy Ways To Make A Moisturizing Honey Face Mask

6 WAYS TO MAKE A MOISTURIZING HONEY FACE MASK

Trying to get the best skin of your life through face masks? Reach for the sweet stuff. Honey has long been used as a natural moisturizer, and it can help even skin tone by adding moisture and opening pores. Raw organic honey is full of age-defying antioxidants and contains enzymes that release hydrogen peroxide for antimicrobial effects. So naturally, raw honey makes a great face mask.

BASIC HONEY FACE MASK

The easiest way to use raw honey as a face mask is to simply apply a thin layer right to your skin. Your skin should be damp, and you’ll want to leave the honey on for about thirty minutes. If you want the full benefits of honey, add a couple cups of raw honey to a bath and soak for thirty minutes while you let the face mask sit. Now there’s a sweet way to spend an evening.

MOISTURE-PACKED HONEY FACE MASK

If you want to really ramp up the moisturizing properties of honey, add some avocado and yogurt to the mix, both powerful moisturizers in their own right. Simply combine equal parts plain yogurt, mushed avocado and raw honey. Let the mixture sit for about 25 minutes, and then rinse it off.

SKIN-LIGHTENING HONEY FACE MASK

Since honey is reputed to release hydrogen peroxide (a natural lightener) and lemon juice is the most popular natural lightener around, combine the two to fade scars and dark marks. Plus, the honey’s moisturizing properties will counteract the drying effect lemon juice can have. Simply combine one part lemon juice to four parts honey, and let the mixture sit on troubled areas for about thirty minutes.

HONEY SCRUB FACE MASK

If you’d like to get the best of an exfoliating scrub with the soothing nourishment of a face mask, simply add one part raw honey to one part brown sugar. The brown sugar will give you gentle, soothing exfoliation to complement the moisturizing benefits of the honey. Apply the mixture to your face and scrub for a minute or so, and then let the mixture sit for 5-15 minutes.

EGG & HONEY FACE MASK

Raw, whipped eggs are great for adding moisture to skin, as well. So to turbocharge your honey mask, combine one raw egg and about a large dollop of raw honey, and stir well. Then apply the mixture to damp skin for about twenty minutes. Rinse well.

HONEY FACE MASK FOR CLEARING ACNE

Since raw honey is a strong antimicrobial agent, it has long been used to help clear up acne. To really boost honey’s acne-fighting properties, however, add some tea tree oil. Tea tree oil helps cut excess oil on skin without sapping the skin of necessary moisture. Combine a couple drops of tea tree oil with a large dollop of raw honey, and mix it well. Then apply the mixture to the affected area for about twenty minutes, and then rinse.
